The final weeks of the year are often filled with holidays, gatherings and celebrations. But before dinner is served and gifts are exchanged, it’s important for donors to take some time to consider their year-end charitable giving goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nonprofit organizations rely on end-of-year grants to support ongoing programs, future growth and new initiatives. To ensure your grantmaking positively impacts the issue areas you care about most\u2014and to take advantage of year-end tax benefits\u2014here are five tips for year-end giving, along with our published deadlines for 2024 grant recommendations and donor-advised fund (DAF) account contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Give Before the New Year<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nonprofits estimate nearly one-third of all annual giving occurs in December<\/a>, with 10% coming in the final three days of the year.
